Hi Anthony! Here’s your French translator replying: the cover artist is Didier Graffet, one of France’s best fantasy & SF illustrator (a quick Google Image search may convince you of his many talents : https://www.google.fr/search?q=didier+graffet&client=firefox-b&dcr=0&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwic_rWmorXaAhXJshQKHeunD2IQ_AUICigB&biw=1280&bih=703)
For the record, I insisted on having Last Look Jack on the cover (I actually wanted to pit him against Hilemore’s Superior in the Ice, but that was too bold according to Bragelonne’s excellent graphic designer).
Looking forward to reading (and translating) the third installment of this wonderful trilogy!
Keep up the good work,
Maxime

Many thanks, Maxime, and for all the work you do. I believe copies of the print-ready version of Empire of Ashes are currently going out to translators so hopefully you’ll have it soon.
Best,
Anthony

Good news!
And just to let you know, The Waking Fire has just won the Hellfest Inferno literary prize (https://www.actualitte.com/article/culture-arts-lettres/dragon-blood-d-anthony-ryan-couronne-par-le-prix-hellfest-inferno-2018/88536) against a batch of other great novels published by Bragelonne.
I don’t know if you’ve heard about the Hellfest, but it’s one of Europe’s biggest metal festivals. So it seems you’ve got quite the metalhead fanbase over here 😉
All the best,
Maxime
