Writing news – Tower Lord Milestone #1

Completed my fifth Tower Lord chapter yesterday, which takes the first draft up to 30,000 words plus which is roughly equivalent to 100+ hardcover pages. Only about another 200,000 words to go. Still managing the 2000 word a day target despite some recent personal troubles. Updates to follow on future milestone passing as and when…

I’ve just finished the Book One of Blood Song, and I must say that I truly loved your book. I even read it at my workplace after office hours. I really look forward reading Book Two. By the way, when do you think the latter will be released ?

Thanks for kind words Alexandre (great name by the way). Re. Book Two, I continue to work on it every day. I’m reluctant to give a firm release date but am cautiously optimistic I’ll have it finished by Christmas, much like all sides in World War I circa August 1914.
Updates on progress will be posted on this blog as and when…

just finished your book, and loved it. Its got a sort of “left hand of god”/ “name of the wind” feel, with the questions of religion and family, and following the protagonist whilst he grows from a child to an adult through his narration of his own story. Found it through amazon, out of 24 reviews, there were 24 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks Daniel. I’m somewhat chagrined to admit that I’ve yet to read either Name of the Wind or Left Hand of God, but certainly hope to before long.
Yes, the Amazon reviews are very (very) welcome, not that I obsessively check them or anything.

Thank you so much for sharing your book with us! I’m so glad that I found you on Amazon. You have a gift that not many authors have for creating a story. Unlike Lyrna and Harlick, who would only read your book once (because they could remember every word you wrote), I’m looking forward to soon reading Raven’s Shadow again, because as C.S. Lewis said, “I can’t imagine a man really enjoying a book and reading it only once.”

    • Anthony Ryan

Thanks Joshua. I’m not sure I’m cerebral enough for Harlick, though Lyrna would probably read anything that had her name in it. Also, if you like her, stay tuned for Tower Lord…
